 The iPhone Dev Team recently released redsn0w 0.9.10 to provide untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1. This untethered jailbreak is only for non A5 devices. The following iDevices are currently supported by iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak:

• iPhone 3GS
• iPhone 4 (GSM/CDMA)
• iPod Touch 3G/4G
• iPad 1

The untethered jailbreak is available only for iOS 5.0.1 & not iOS 5.0. So make sure you download iOS 5.0.1 IPSW before proceeding with the jailbreak.

 Apple today released iOS 5, a major update for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch that adds over 200 new user features including Notification Center, iMessage, iCloud support and PC Free. iOS 5 is now available for download in iTunes; to install the new software on your iOS device, connect it to iTunes via USB and “Check for Updates” in the device’s info screen.

Apple’s iCloud recently just went live for everyone! All you need to do is to enter your current login details and you will be prompted to upgrade the MobileMe account to iCloud (if you had one). The site for iCloud (http://iCloud.com) just went live as well as it no longer says beta and has a new login screen.

The Cupertino giant has also released the MobileMe to iCloud migration page (http://MobileMe.com/move), which will allow users MobileMe users to migrate data from their MobileMe account to iCloud. The migration process will allow users to move content such as Mail, Contacts, and Calendar data to their iCloud account.

I remember a few years ago when the iPhone first came out, getting your Hotmail emails on the Email app was just a struggle. Then Microsoft figured it out and let its users easily set up Hotmail on the iPhone and other devices.

 It is finally official folks: Apple will be holding their next media event on October 4th at their own campus at Infinite Loop, Cupertino, CA. The event will begin at 10:00 am Pacific Time.

 Social networking giant, Twitter, could have provided yet another clue as to the potential release date of the much awaited fifth release of Apple’s iOS software. With speculation reaching fever pitch surrounding the impending arrival of iOS 5, it appears Twitter may have tipped Apple’s hat for them, with pair of developer events suggesting a final version of the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch operating system could be in customers’ hands before October tenth.

Apple has provided Twitter integration in iOS 5 and included a framework to allow the company to extend it to account integrations. So, Facebook integration as a system-level feature would not be a stretch. These screens closely resemble those of Twitter's integration and are likely just mock-ups ("addresses" is spelled wrong):

iOS 5 Beta 7 is probably the very last snapshot of iOS 5′s development, pushing it closer to a final release, which is predicted to take place next month. While we haven’t had the chance to try out this new seed for ourselves yet, it’s expected to contain several stability and security improvements, making iOS 5 close to release quality.
